'Gosh... I'm back on Marienplatz again !' It's hypnotic, unconscious... With no precise goal, my steps always carry me back here, in spite of me. It seems I'm moved by this underground force emanating from the city, automatically pushing me towards this "grand' place" of Munich. I look around and smile, reassured: I'm not the only one... and I understand at first glance : it's necessary to be from 'München' not to be charmed : all around a crowd of foreigners and strangers have already succumbed to the spell as well... But anyway, what matters is that today again, the city gets to put together its quotas of pious people, coming to celebrate the so much desired eucha-tourist mass. Yes, it is a communion that we celebrate here : the tourist one ! Just tourists, adulating a tradition, their spare time, through this great communion which is repeated at set times, twice a day. But shhh, the moment is solemn, the service is about to start... Patiently, fanatically, all noses up, we're waiting... and finally the promised and announced miracle is being delivered to us so as to deliver us : some high-perched apostolic automats, composed by coloured musicians and buffoons, gently get going around the great chime. Right from the top of her column, The Virgin Mary, goldenly dressed, is orchestrating the ceremony. Around her, four angels are in charge of security. The crowd is jubilant, it is raining flashes. At the same time one can hear a molecular celestial music, indecipherable for us, humble pilgrims. But it does not matter, that is only contributing to increase the mysticism of such an apparition...
